Stop Food Cravings Fast

How to Stop the Cravings That Make You Fat!

Have you ever wondered why so many people can’t control their urge to eat the wrong foods?

This is a real problem because, as a society, we are getting fatter than ever, a global obesity epidemic that is spiralling out of control.

Surely there must be a method by which people can overcome their cravings, once and for all, right?

You’ve probably received emails from me in the past, and read my articles, where I give advice on how to overcome cravings that are valid; but I’ve never personally talked about how I deal with my own cravings.

Today I’d like to share a little story with you.

I remember once, I was in a supermarket and I was tempted by a jar of Nutella. I said to myself: if I buy it now, I’ll only eat one spoonful of Nutella a night, ensuring that the jar would last me for a month; so I did.

Guess what happened? That very night my cravings took over and I ate the whole jar of Nutella. And this has happened almost every time I’ve tried other processed foods of the same type as well.

I’m sure many of you can relate to this story and probably something similar has happened to you in the past.

There is a lesson here. Whilst researching natural hygiene, I learned something very important about our satiety mechanism.

In essence, it is easy to overeat processed foods, which is why many people (even on vegan and vegetarian diets) struggle to control their weight. By contrast, it is not easy to overeat whole and raw foods.

This is simply because our bodies has a natural mechanism of satiation – among other physiological factors which make us want to stop eating after we consume enough raw food. This biological characteristic also explains why wild animals – all of whom feed exclusively on raw food – are NEVER overweight!

Have you ever seen an obese deer or lizard out in the wild? You probably haven’t. This is because they simply DO NOT EXIST!

Perhaps you feel that animals like seals and hippos are overweight. Compared to a greyhound they might appear to be. But their size is appropriate to their lifestyle and the variations in the climate and environment they are accustomed to. Picture a school of fish, a herd of antelope, or any other group of wild animals. They might be differing sizes, but they are always the same shape.

We might then ask ourselves: Why is it that the only species on the planet with weight problems are humans and the domesticated animals whose eating habits we control, such as dogs and cats? Do you see a pattern?

This was the first of the important pieces of evidence: the realization that over 99.99 percent of the creatures on this planet eat as much as they want of their favourite foods, as often as they like, without being overweight. Obviously they know some secret that we don’t.

Isn’t it ironic that our so called superior intelligence seems to have created a problem rather than solved one, because we too must have known the secret before we acquired our superior knowledge?

There can only be one possible explanation. Perhaps the fact that we are so far ahead in intelligence of any other species on the planet has caused us to become arrogant and complacent. So much so, that we actually believe we know better than the intelligence that created us.

Obviously, an important lesson we can learn from wild animals is that our body’s satiety mechanism is only effective when we eat natural, i.e. raw food. Not when we eat artificially prepared foods, which trick our senses; like a jar of Nutella and other highly processed foods, hence we keep eating them until we get sick.

Once you realize how satiation and satiety affect our eating behaviour, you will suffer much less from cravings because you will understand what the real problem is.

As you develop the habit of eating healthy raw foods and beating the cravings that make you fat, you’ll never look back!
