The other day I went for a run and I couldn’t help but notice how many overweight people there were.
Obesity is the biggest epidemic of our time and it is getting worse, not better.
In this article, I’ll tell you 3 factors why I think people gain weight… you may not hear this from the nutritional establishment or hear it on the news, for that matter.
1- Eating refined grain products
Whether it’s white breads, cereals, pastries, cakes, biscuits, pizza, pasta, waffles, noodles, muffins, etc., you should avoid eating these things if you care about your body; it’s as simple as that!
And if you can’t resist the temptation and want to eat this stuff occasionally, treat it as if you were drinking alcohol or doing something else bad, because these habit-forming substances are not good!
Just remember that gluten in wheat and some other popular grains can be injurious to some of our systems, particularly those of us who cannot tolerate gluten well. There is also the problem of Phytates (phytic acid) in some grains (including whole grains). Too much grain, even sprouted, can raise one’s acidity, leading to all sorts of otherwise easily avoided ailments.
2- Eating too much fat
I don’t understand why most people can’t understand this simple concept: eating too much fat makes you fat! Forget what the keto diet advocates say; those crazy, ignorant, lunatics! You should use common sense and follow the proper science.
The best way to reduce fat in your diet is to make sure that you only buy food from greengrocers or the produce section of supermarkets and ignore the rest. In other words, eat mostly fresh fruit and vegetables! It’s one of the best tips I’ve learned.
3- Drinking sodas and eating junk food snacks
I hardly ever walk down the street these days and see someone eating an apple or another fruit, it happens, but very rarely. On the contrary, I see people drinking sodas and eating all kinds of junk food, left and right.
Some people say that the raw food diet is expensive – it isn’t. Do you know how much money you save by not drinking sugary drinks and eating tons of junk food? PLUS, being able to afford all the expensive medical treatments and medication you’ll need to buy when you get sick, because it will happen if you eat crap!
I know people my age who, due to diabetes, can no longer get an erection. Well, life is for living and sex is an important part of it, that’s what I think!
Do most people live life to the fullest as they get older? From the looks of it, and from the diseases they have to deal with on a daily basis? I don’t think so!
